I’m sure you’re already familiar with the awesomeness that is Muzei and apps like Material Wallpapers. So today we’re going to tell you about some newer wallpaper apps that you might not have come across yet.
1. TapDeck
If you’re tired of the process of searching for awesome wallpapers, downloading them, managing them and applying them manually, it’s about time you installed TapDeck.
TapDeck takes the idea of frequent wallpaper cycling and adds a social element to it. Much like Facebook, you can add friends on TapDeck. You can then see a feed of the wallpapers they like, the ones they recommend and more. Plus, in just one tap, you can “drop” a wallpaper to your friend’s homescreen. All they have to do is tap one button and it’s applied. Also, you can skip this whole social thing if you want. All you have to do in TapDeck is double tap the empty part of the screen to change the wallpaper.

2. Evolve Wallpapers
If you like minimal wallpapers that don’t look glum, you’re going to love Evolve. Evolve is a 2 man shop and the app’s designer handcrafts the wallpapers himself. Currently, the app has 130+ awesome wallpapers and more are being added every week.
via GIPHY If you like supporting designers for their work and you want to cycle through funky and colorful minimal wallpapers, buy Evolve for $0.99.
3. Chrooma Live Wallpaper
At first glance, Chrooma doesn’t look like that big of a deal. But trust me, it is. The app generates live wallpapers (not the kind you’re used to. It uses Material Design guidelines and the flat color palette. This is how it works, you go in, select the kind of patterns you want to see, the colors and how frequently you want to change the wallpaper. Then, Chrooma will take over. I’ve set it in a way that I get a new wallpaper every time I press the Home button.
via GIPHY When I do that, Chrooma creates a subtle animation, the pattern based wallpaper slides in, assembles in the pattern that I selected and stays there. This happens over and over again and I get new patters and colors each time. Totally worth the dollar asking price.
4. Wallmax
Wallmax is not exactly new. But I’ve been exploring the app recently and it’s amazing just how many awesome high-quality wallpapers this app has. Plus it’s well designed and straightforward to use. Check it out if you haven’t already.
