Tried setting up themes and configuring automatic wallpaper change. But then the stock got over and I did not want to start downloading stuff. It was then that I discovered Pulse and now I see a different wallpaper whenever I minimize all the windows to show desktop. Pulse is a Windows application that downloads wallpapers automatically from depots like Wallbase, Google, National Geographic (NatGeo) and more. Having them set to download automatically is optional, but, where’s the fun without doing it. Cool tip: We’ve covered two neat ways to quickly hide your desktop icons and get a feel of the wallpaper without any clutter. Do check them. The auto-download won’t be random, rather will follow all the standards that you have defined. Download the zip, extract files and run the application (no installation required). The icon immediately finds a place in the system tray. Right-click and select Options to define your rules and search domain. Open Cache Folder stores the downloaded files temporarily. Ban Image is used to discard an image if you don’t like it. On the options window you have a General  tab. All downloads are based on the query and filter options set here. Key in a search value or keyword for wallpaper type and choose a download domain from the drop down. You may also set the download frequency and Pre Fetch options. Choosing to delete files (and how often) is another provision. There is also a Settings button that lets you set filtering priorities for every search engine. Things like Categories, Purity and Resolution play an important role. Rest is pretty easy to understand. Under Outputs tab you may choose your action against the downloaded files. I have the option selected to set them to my desktop. You may also select for a different logon screen every time. Moreover, changing the Aero theme to adjust with the current wall works just awesome.
