Prior to this update, the Play Store’s Editor’s Choice section only housed three categories: Editor’s Choice Apps, Editor’s Choice Games and Android Excellence Awardees. The update is currently being rolled out to Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, USA and South Korea ‘with expansion to more countries soon’ and will add to the existing categories. “The Editors’ Choice section on Google Play has long been a fan favourite, but we’re kicking it up a notch by adding better curation to help you find high-quality apps and games that you’ll love,” Google stated. The new curated section contains lists of several different genres of games and apps that are considered ‘high-quality’ by the editorial. Curated lists will contain app genres such as 5 best Fitness app or Navigation apps and game genres such as 5 best RPGs or Arcade and more.
“In our revamped Editors’ Choice section, our Google Play editors hand-select apps and games with the best experiences on Android and compile them around popular themes, while offering context on why they love each individual app or game,” the company added.
