With other social media apps, like WhatsApp, admins get certain rights. However, with Snapchat, the group members have the right to remove someone from the group chat but not delete the group. Additionally, by default, the messages within the group chat will disappear after 24 hours. However, you can save those messages as well. With that out the way, here’s how to create and use the Group Chat feature on Snapchat.

How to Mute a Group Chat on Snapchat
Too many members in a group chat mean too many notifications at once. Or it could just be that one chatty member carrying the entire group conversation on their back. However, there are times when you need peace and quiet from the constant ding of notifications, that too without muting your device. And muting a group does exactly that. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how to implement this setting. Step 1: Open Snapchat and tap on the chat icon. Step 2: Tap on the group icon to open group settings. Step 3: Then, tap on the three-dot icon. Step 4: Here, tap on Message Notifications. Step 5: Tap on Silent.

Step 2: Then, tap on the chat icon. Step 3: Here, tap on the group icon. Step 4: Now, go to the Group Members section and long-press on the member you wish to remove. Step 5: Here, tap on ‘Remove from Group’. Step 6: Tap on Remove to confirm. This will instantly remove the member from the Snapchat group. However, please note that deleted members can still see previous message history and take screenshots of the group. And even though by default group chats are set to disappear after 24 hours, they might be available for longer if this setting is changed. Additionally, if you can change your mind, you can always add them back to your group chat. Tip: You can also block a person on Snapchat to delete them from the group chat. However, this will also remove them from your friends’ list.
