We still long for a hardbound photo book or album that will be closer to our hearts than the pixels on a screen. Google appreciates your effort to immortalize your moments of joy. That is why the tech supremo, Google, now lets to make your own Photo Book. You can now create a softcover or hardcover photo to share your moments. This wonderful feature is available in the US and Canada as of now. But we hope that like all other cool Google features, this one too will soon be available globally. In this post, we will tell you how to make and order your very own Google Photo Book on PC, Android, and iOS.
On a Computer:
Step 1.
Go to the Google Photos web page and log in with your Google account. Yes, you’d need to have a Google account to make a Google Photo Book.
Step 2.
On the left-hand side, you’ll see an option named Photo books. Click Photo books > START A BOOK.
Step 3.
On the next screen, click Continue. Select from 20 to maximum 100 photos from the photo grid. Then, click Done. Your photo book will be made automatically. You can then choose to pay for the book by clicking Cart.
Step 4.
Select the kind of book you want. There are two options – 7-inch softcover or 9-inch hardcover. On the next screen, you’ll be shown the details of the book type, quantity, and price. Review them and hit Checkout when you’re satisfied.
Step 5.
Then, like any other online order, add the shipping details, method. Then, click Buy and pay with your credit or debit card. Google also lets you make changes to your order until 60 minutes since you place the order.
On Android or iOS:
Step 1.
Open the Google Photos app on your Android or iOS phone and log in with your Google account, if you’re not already logged in.
Step 2.
Tap the hamburger menu icon at the top-left corner. Navigate to Photo books > Start a book.
Step 3.
Click Continue to select up to 100 photos from the photo grid. Hit Done to save the photo book. The Google Photo Book payment process on Android and iOS is same as that in the case of computers.
Make Photo Book from Album
You can also create a photo book from your pre-existing Google Photos album. To do that, you need to follow these steps:
Step 1.
Log in to Google Photos from your computer or Android or iOS device. On the left, select Albums.
Step 2.
Select any photo album and hit the More option (marked by the three-dot icon) at the top-right side and click Create photo book. The rest of the process is same as ordering a Google Photo Book. A slide from Google Photo Book | Source: USA Today
How Much It Costs
The cost is set at $9.99 for the 7-inch softcover and $19.99 for the 9-inch hardcover option. Which is very reasonable, if you ask me.
How Much Time It Takes
Google promises to print and package your photo book within 2-3 business days. Then, it’s shipped to your address in the US or Canada.
Check or Cancel an Order
Visit the Google Photos site or app, click Photo books and under Past orders, select a photo book to know its status. You can also cancel an order by clicking Cancel in the same menu.
