HQ Trivia hit a new record on Christmas day as 730,000 people logged on simultaneously at 9 p.m. Eastern Time to compete for an unusually large jackpot prize worth $12,000. Available only on iOS until now, the game is all set to release on Android on January 1. Registration for the game started last week. However, you can play HQ Trivia on your Android device right now. What is HQ Trivia?
HQ Trivia was created by Vine co-founders Rus Yusupov and Colin Kroll. As mentioned earlier, it is a game show that you can watch on your phone as both the spectator and the participant. The game, which has thousands of players competing against one another to win real money, is hosted by comedian Scott Rogowsky. It’s played at 9 p.m. Eastern Time every day and 3 p.m. on weekdays. Once an HQ Trivia game starts, you’ll be presented with 12 multiple-choice questions on a broad range of general knowledge topics. You’ll only have 10 seconds to answer each question. If you answer a question incorrectly or run out of time, you’re eliminated from the game. You’ll now have to wait for the next game. Also, since you only get 10 seconds to answer, the possibility of a quick Google search seems highly unlikely.
Prize Money
Most games have jackpots worth $1,000, which is split evenly between all the winners in that round. All the players, who completes all 12 questions, split the jackpot in equal parts. If no one wins, the prize money is carried over to the next game. Once you’ve collected at least $20, you can transfer it to your Paypal account.
