How to Use a Google Nest Device as a Bluetooth Speaker

Of course, you can always ask Google Assistant on a Nest device to play your favorite songs from any streaming service. However, if your Nest speaker can’t connect to Wi-Fi or if you want to play some offline tracks, voice recordings, or even take a call on a loudspeaker, using the Nest device as a Bluetooth speaker makes a lot of sense. Here’s how you can do it. Step 1: Go close to your Google Nest speaker or display and say, “OK Google, enable Bluetooth” to start the pairing process. This will automatically enable Bluetooth on your Nest device, and it will be discoverable to other devices. Step 2:Turn on Bluetooth and look for nearby devices to pair on your smartphone.

Step 3: You should now see your Google Nest speaker listed in the Available Devices section. Tap on it to start the pairing process.

Step 4: Tap on Pair to confirm the connection.

The Nest speaker will play a short tone to confirm the connection. Your smartphone is now paired to the Nest speaker. Play a song on your phone, and the sound output will come from Google Nest speaker instead of your phone’s speaker. Step 5: To disable Bluetooth, just say, “OK Google, turn off Bluetooth.” Your will disconnect from the Nest speaker. After you pair your phone with the Nest device, you’ll need to say “OK Google, enable Bluetooth” whenever you want to listen to music next. And your phone will automatically connect to the Nest speaker. Alternatively, you can also cast audio from your phone directly to the Nest speaker. This will save you from pairing your device and enabling/disabling Bluetooth every time on the speaker. Here’s how to do it.

How to Cast Audio From Your Smartphone to a Nest Speaker

Before you cast audio from your smartphone to a Nest speaker, ensure that both devices use the same Wi-Fi network. Step 1: Play the music of your choice on your phone.

Step 2: Tap on the album art to bring up additional options. Step 3: Now, tap on the cast icon to bring up the list of available devices.

Step 4: Select your Nest speaker from the list of devices.

The audio will now start playing on the Nest speaker. This will automatically enable Bluetooth on your Echo speaker, and it will be discoverable to other devices. Step 2: On your smartphone, turn on Bluetooth and look for nearby devices to pair.

Step 4: Tap on Pair to confirm the connection.

Alexa will prompt to tell you that the Echo device is connected via Bluetooth. Play your favorite tracks on your phone and Echo speaker will blast out the sound. Step 5: When you’re ready to disconnect the Bluetooth connection, just say “Alexa, disable Bluetooth.” Alexa will give you a prompt againt to inform that the Echo speaker has been disconnected from your phone.
