We are talking about the Twitter bookmark feature. In this post, we will tell you how to use the new Twitter feature.
What is Twitter Bookmark
You know how you like tweets or DM them to yourself or add them to Moments so that you can access them later? Well, forget all that now. You can now save the tweets to read later using the Bookmark feature. It’s like any other bookmark feature where you can add content and remove it as per your wish. Even Facebook and Instagram have Save buttons to save links and posts. Thanks to the Bookmark feature, you can now use the Like button for its actual purpose, which is liking the tweets or ending the conversation (something we all do). Also, no, Twitter won’t remove the current Like button, in case you were wondering. All your bookmarked tweets will now be easily accessible under a separate Bookmark option. It is such a simple feature that was long overdue. But thankfully, it’s here now.
How to Bookmark Tweets
To bookmark a tweet, open Twitter on your mobile browser or the Twitter app. In case of iPhones, tap the new Share icon to the right of the old Like button and select Add Tweet to Bookmarks from the menu. On Android devices and the mobile website too, tap the new Share icon. Select Add Tweet to Bookmarks from the options. In both the cases, you will receive a notification saying, “Tweet added to your Bookmarks”.
How to View Saved Tweets
Now that you have saved tweets in Bookmarks, you might be wondering where to view them. Here’s what you need to do to view them: Step 1: Open Twitter on any platform and tap the profile picture icon at the top-left corner. Step 2: A menu will appear. Tap the new Bookmarks option. All your bookmarked tweets will show up here — locked safely in your private treasure.
How to Remove Saved Tweets
To remove any tweet from the Bookmarks section, follow these steps: Step 1: Open the Bookmarks section and locate the tweet that you want to remove. Step 2: Tap the new Share icon and select the Remove Tweet from Bookmarks option. Once the tweet is removed, you will receive a notification saying, “Tweet has been removed”.
Are Twitter Bookmarks Public
In case you are wondering if the bookmarks are public, the answer is no. Unlike Twitter Likes that are public and can be viewed by anyone if they have a public profile, Twitter Bookmarks are private. Only you can access them even if you have a public profile.
How to Access Twitter Bookmarks From PC or Website
Unfortunately, as of now, Twitter desktop website doesn’t support Bookmarks. You can neither save nor view your Bookmarks. But, there is a simple workaround to view your Twitter Bookmarks on PC. As Bookmarks are available on the mobile website, you can view it via the same link on your PC. To do so, simply save the Twitter mobile bookmark link on your PC and use it to access your bookmarks.
What’s Missing
As of now, Twitter doesn’t provide any organization tools for Bookmarks. You can neither categorize nor search the bookmarks. If you have added multiple bookmarks, it would be a tedious task to search for the one that you are looking for. However, let’s not be too judgmental. Amid all the hate that Twitter spreads, at least they have done one good thing by providing such a great and useful feature in the form of Bookmarks.
