In today’s article, I will show you how you can create a movie from your photos with Windows Live Movie Maker and do wonders with those snaps. Before we start I hope you have Windows Live Essentials installed on your system. If not, please download and install it on your computer before we proceed any further. As you will see, another Live Essentials product – Windows Live Photo Gallery – has a role to play in this process.

Collecting the Data

Step 1: First things first, import all the photos from your camera into Windows Live Photo Gallery using data cable or the memory card. Step 2: Once you are done importing the photographs select them and click on Movie Maker button. Step 3: As soon as you click the Movie Maker button Windows Live Movie Maker will be launched. It’s time to customize your movie.

Grooving the Movie

Step 1: Adding more photos and videos If you wish to import additional photographs into your collection, you can use  the Add video and photos button located on the Home tab strip. Step 2: Adding music Music is the most necessary ingredient of a movie (unless you want to create a silent movie which is so passé). To add tracks to your movie click on music button and import the music that best suits your movie timeline. Step 3: Choosing transition effects On the Home tab, in the themes section, click the theme you want to use. Movie Maker will automatically add titles, credits, transitions and effects for you. You can either keep the settings or manually edit as per your needs.

Finalizing and Exporting

You can preview your video at any instance of time while creating it. When you think your movie is ready click on the save movie button and export the movie in the desired format. There are many other editing options available in Windows Live Movie Maker to help you show your creativity to your family and friends. One your movie is rendered you can share it with your family and friends using email attachments or online video services.

My Verdict

I always prefer watching a slideshow over normal one-by-one method but now creating a movie seems to be a better option. Using Movie Maker to blend our perfect shots in the form of a motion picture with animated effects and music playing in the background really brings life to even the most uninteresting photos.
